SAMS offers the students access to the national curriculum, including Mathematics. Leveraging on both their interests and prior knowledge, our students are taught mathematics though the concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach, where students explore mathematical concepts through the use of concrete manipulatives before applying them in planned school activities, as well as those beyond school.
SAMS aims to:
- Engage students through structured and explicit lesson delivery;
- Equip students with mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use;
- Empower students with problem solving skills by developing thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach; and
- Enable students to excel by building confidence and fostering interest in Mathematics.
