Learning Outcomes
In line with the mainstream Primary Mathematics Curriculum, St. Andrew’s Mission School (SAMS) aim for our students to:
- acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use
- develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem solving; and
- build confidence and foster interest in mathematics
Pedagogical Approaches
SAMS adopts explicit instruction and concrete-pictorial-abstract approach in teaching Mathematical concepts. In addition, SAMS uses KooBits as a platform to increase students’ interest and engagement where self-directed learning is promoted. With the increase in repetitive practices, students acquire proficiency and mastery of the skill taught in class.
